Carnsore Point is the south-eastern corner of the island, and nearest to Wales. Cape Clear is the most southerly point, but it is not on the mainland. It is a cape on Cape Clear Island, off the coast of Cork. Mizen Head, in County Cork (Self Catering, Cork, Ireland), is there-fore the most southerly point of Ireland.
